We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Store Custodian to oversee the daily operations of our store or warehouse. The Store Custodian will be responsible for receiving, issuing, storing, and recording materials and supplies while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring proper storage conditions. The ideal candidate will be organized, honest, and capable of managing stock efficiently in a fast-paced working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials, supplies, and equipment in an organized manner;
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all stock movements (receipts and issues);
- Issue requested items to departments or personnel as per approved requisitions and keep updated records;
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the supervisor;
- Perform regular stocktaking, reconciliations, and submit inventory reports to the appropriate department;
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store to ensure safe and efficient operations;
- Ensure stock items are properly labeled and stored to prevent damage or loss;
- Assist with the preparation of purchase requests based on minimum stock levels;
- Enforce store access and security protocols to prevent unauthorized entry and theft;
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate and timely documentation;
Requirements
Academic qualification
- Diploma/Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Store keeping, or related field.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 1+ years of relevant work experience in store keeping, inventory, or warehouse management.
Additional qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy;
- Good organizational and time-management skills;
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel;
- Ability to lift and move goods and operate basic store equipment;
- Honest, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Familiarity with safety and handling procedures for different types of goods.
- Good command of Amharic and English, both written and spoken
