Job Summary:

we are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Reception Cashier to join our team. The Reception Cashier will be responsible for handling guest check-ins and check-outs, processing payments, managing cash transactions, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor to ensure a positive guest experience.  

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Greet guests as they arrive and assist with check-in/check-out procedures;
  • Process guest payments, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment;
  • Maintain an accurate cash register and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed;
  • Provide guests with receipts, invoices, and other necessary documentation;
  • Answer guest inquiries about services, facilities, and local attractions, providing exceptional customer service;
  • Ensure that the front desk area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies;
  • Assist with billing inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in guest accounts;
  • Handle room reservations, cancellations, and amendments using the hotel management system;
  • Balance and reconcile cash balance at the beginning and end of each shift;
  • Report any cash shortages, discrepancies, or issues to the supervisor or manager immediately;
  • Assist in preparing and processing end-of-day financial reports;
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and financial transactions;
  • Support the team with additional administrative tasks, as needed.

Requirements

Academic qualification 

  • Degree/Diploma in Front Office Management, Customer management or other related fields; 
  • Proven experience as a cashier, receptionist, or in a customer service role is an advantage.

Additional qualifications 

  • Basic knowledge of cash handling procedures and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in using computers, with experience in hotel management systems a plus.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Years of experience: Minimum of 4+ years, experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
