We are searching for a talented Senior legal Advisor who will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, overseeing legal policies, and advising senior management on a variety of corporate and legal matters. The Senior Legal Advisor will also play a key role in driving the company's legal strategies, supporting employee welfare initiatives, and managing legal disputes. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management, with the ability to navigate complex legal challenges and deliver practical solutions that align with business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Offer expert legal advice on a wide range of matters, including contracts, regulations, compliance, corporate governance, and employment law;
- Draft, review, and approve agreements, contracts, and other legal documents across the business to ensure compliance with relevant laws and protect the company’s rights and interests;
- Serve as the first point of contact for business functions on legal compliance requirements, internal processes, and pre-contract due diligence;
- Lead employee sensitization sessions to communicate the company's mission, vision, and values, ensuring alignment with legal policies;
- Collaborate with the HR lead to establish an employee consultative forum, including the development of terms of reference;
- Manage employee welfare programs, including health clinics, medical insurance, and workers' compensation;
- Ensure that employee satisfaction surveys are conducted at least bi-annually to assess and improve organizational culture and employee engagement;
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization and advise on necessary actions to ensure compliance;
- Provide guidance to management on regulatory and compliance matters to ensure the company adheres to legal requirements;
- Design, implement, and oversee the company’s legal policies and positions, ensuring alignment with business goals and legal best practices;
- Apply effective risk management techniques, offering proactive advice and protecting the company from potential legal risks and violations;
- Negotiate business deals on behalf of the company and prepare relevant contract documents;
- Prepare legal documents such as contracts, lawsuits, deeds, wills, and appeals with attention to detail and legal accuracy;
- Identify legal or contractual issues and develop innovative solutions to resolve complex problems;
- Provide legal advice to senior management on various corporate and business matters, helping guide key decision-making processes;
- Remain informed about federal and state laws, regulations, and industry practices affecting the company’s operations;
- Communicate with courts, external legal counsel, and other relevant parties to ensure proper legal procedures are followed;
- Ensure accurate maintenance of case files, notes, and reports to track legal proceedings and relevant information;
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or senior leadership, contributing to the company's broader legal and business needs.
Requirements
Academic qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in LLB
- Professional license/certification is a requirement.
