The Disbursement Section Head is responsible for overseeing the overall financial activities of the company. The position holder is accountable for accurate reporting of financial activities and able to manage financial matters by implementing a standard system for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Controls the organization’s annual operating budget, monthly forecasts, and operating results to ensure that financial targets are met & statutory regulations are complied with;
- Analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling data and required documentation;
- Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including balance sheet, Income statements, profit and loss statements, and other necessary reports;
- Comply with tax law and legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation to update the management and the finance team members;
- Review the standard operating procedure manual for accounting policy and regulations and make the necessary amendments as required;
- Managing the external auditor relationship and ensuring the organization is compliant with accounting standards;
- To minimize the risks of mistakes and fraud, ensure the application of internal controlling procedures in accordance with company guidelines;
- Verify all financial reports and ensure that all transactions are accurate and in compliance with local government regulations;
- Serve as a contact person for key external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, company registration office, and tax authorities;
- Oversee all the day-to-day accounting processes, including disbursement, collection, payroll and intercompany transactions;
- Ensure the establishment of the controlling mechanism for assets acquisition, handling, and utilization;
- Close accounts and prepare financial statements of the company for external auditors at the end of the fiscal period;
- Coordinate the account section team and create different motivational instruments for better performance;
- Prepare and provide different financial analyses to the non-accounting management team to support decision-making;
- Review bank loan statements and monitor their periodical re-payment based on the loan schedule.
- Advising and implementing best practice methods.
Academic qualification
- BA / MA in Accounting or Financial Management or a related field
Skills & Abilities
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask;
- Solid understanding of financial management and accounting standards;
- Knowledge of different accounting software;
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role;
Years of experience: 8+ years and of which 4+ years in a senior role.
