Job Position: Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and reporting on the costs associated with our manufacturing processes. This position will work closely with the production, finance, and operations teams to ensure cost efficiency, accurate costing, and financial reporting.  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Calculate and track the costs of raw materials, production processes, labor, and overhead in our plastic manufacturing operations;
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of production costs;
• Prepare cost reports and analyze variances between actual and standard costs, identifying trends and cost-saving opportunities;
• Monitor inventory levels, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, and ensure accurate valuation;
• Work closely with the production and operations teams to identify inefficiencies and suggest cost-saving strategies;
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the manufacturing operations;
• Provide management with detailed cost breakdowns to aid in decision-making, pricing, and profitability analysis;
• Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements, including audits;
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of manufacturing processes to accurately assess cost structures

Skills & Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures;
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting;
• Experience with accounting software, and Computer literacy in MS Excel;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information;
• Proficiency in accounting software with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel;
• Experience with inventory management and manufacturing processes is a plus

 Academic Qualification

• BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, preferably in manufacturing sector

Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing related
