Job Position: Scrub Nurse

Job Summary:

We are hiring for a Scrub Nurse who will play a key role in the operating room

by assisting the surgical team during procedures. You will be responsible for preparing the sterile

field, ensuring that all instruments are accounted for, and assisting the surgeon and surgical staff

with their needs during surgery. This role is essential for maintaining a safe and efficient

operating environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating environment, including setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment;
• Assist the surgical team by handing instruments, sutures, and other supplies during surgery;
• Ensure that the sterile field is maintained throughout the procedure;
• Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and draping;
• Monitor and maintain surgical equipment, ensuring that all tools are functioning properly;
• Work closely with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and coordination during procedures;
• Account for all surgical instruments and supplies used, ensuring nothing is left behind;
• Provide assistance in maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure;
• Maintain detailed documentation of the surgical procedure, including any instruments or materials used;
• Adhere to all infection control protocols, hospital policies, and safety guidelines;
• Respond quickly and effectively to any surgical emergencies that may arise;
• Any other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and protocols;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor;
• Effectively collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, & other healthcare professionals;
• Ability to follow strict hygiene and safety procedures;
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
• A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care;

Experience:

•  Minimum of 3+ years of proven experience as a Scrub Nurse or Operating Room.
• Additional training or experience in specialized surgical procedures or technologies is preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Nursing
• Certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support is an added value.
