Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Deputy Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring that products are delivered efficiently, on time, and at the lowest cost possible. You will support the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager in managing day-to-day operations, coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products.
  • Improve all aspects of the supply chain department by reviewing current methodology and processes.
  • Organize and oversee inventory by keeping a detailed database of available inventory and expected usage per project.
  • Follow up with a bank for foreign currency allocation as per demand from the factory, maintain a good relationship with all banks international departments, and follow up on LC opening, amendment as required, timely shipment and container allocation.
  • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with suppliers, internal customers, logistics providers, transportation companies and custom house Agents.
  • Manage all local purchases, store and warehousing management and control all property of the company under the property administration policy:
  • Provide all insurance on shipments and design and execute all corrective action plans for processes.
  • Design, evaluate and renew all contracts as per requirement and monitor and prepare reports for all import activities and recommend changes if required.
  • Perform research activities on import and export procedures and maintain data on all tax tariffs. 
  • Maintain metrics, reports, processes documentation, customer service logs, or training on safety records.
  • Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
  • Ensure correct and complete documentation for import cargo as per the requirement of various institutions like bank, customs.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues.
  • Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others.

Requirements

Qualification:  Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Management and or related fields

Additional skills 

  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and third-party service providers.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and solve operational challenges.
  • Able to make data-driven decisions to improve logistics and supply chain efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles and techniques.
  • Ability to manage change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Working experience: 

  • 7+ years’ experience in working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations 
  • Steel Industry experience and exposure will be advantageous.
