We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technologist to join our team at the middle level. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of laboratory tasks, from conducting complex tests and experiments to analyzing and interpreting results. This role requires a deep understanding of laboratory protocols, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting, combined with a strong commitment to accuracy and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of tests and procedures with minimal supervision and analyze and interpret experimental results to ensure accuracy and reliability;
- Use and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and functional;
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs);
- Maintain proper documentation of all laboratory activities, test results, and reports.
- Ensure laboratory supplies are stocked, ordered, and properly maintained;
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior laboratory staff, helping them to develop their skills;
- Analyze trends and patterns in test data to support ongoing research or project work;
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with laboratory equipment and procedures;
- Implement corrective actions to minimize errors and improve laboratory efficiency;
- Collaborate with senior staff and external vendors for equipment servicing and repair;
- Assist in the training of new employees or interns, ensuring they are proficient in laboratory procedures;
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of laboratory data, entering results into databases or systems as needed;
- Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and practices, suggesting improvements where appropriate;
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field (required).
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a specialized field (e.g., clinical, industrial, or research institute).Proven experience in laboratory testing, analysis, and equipment maintenance.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols;
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports;
- Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative team;
- Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis tools.
