The Recruitment and Selection Officer is responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle, ensuring that the company attracts, identifies, and hires top talent. This position involves working closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, developing sourcing strategies, screening candidates, and managing the recruitment process from job posting to candidate onboarding. The Recruitment and Selection Officer will also ensure compliance with all recruitment policies and best practices, fostering a positive candidate experience and supporting the company’s goals of building a high-performance workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with department heads and managers to understand staffing requirements and create job descriptions that align with company needs.
- Ensure all job vacancies are posted on appropriate job boards, internal platforms, and external recruitment channels.
- Advertise vacancies on social media and professional networks to attract qualified candidates.
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to identify a diverse pool of candidates, by using social media, networking, and employee referrals.
- Build and maintain a talent pipeline for future recruitment needs, utilizing databases and networking efforts.
- Attend career fairs, networking events, and recruitment campaigns to attract potential candidates.
- Conduct phone or video interviews to assess candidate qualifications, experience, and fit for the company culture.
- Coordinate and schedule in-person or virtual interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Conduct background checks, reference checks, and other verifications as needed.
- Provide candidates with timely updates on their status throughout the recruitment process.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Ensure that all recruitment practices are compliant with labor laws and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all candidate interactions and ensure proper documentation is stored according to company standards.
- Continuously assess and improve recruitment strategies and processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitive hiring practices, and new recruitment tools or technologies.
- Provide feedback to hiring managers and departments on best practices for improving the hiring process.
Requirements
Academic qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Additional qualifications
- Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in MO Suit and familiarity with ERP systems and other recruitment software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple roles simultaneously.
- Ability to assess candidates effectively and match them to the company’s needs.
- Knowledge of labor laws and recruitment-related compliance requirements.
Years of experience:
- 3+ years’ of experience in similar roles related to recruitment and selection
