We are seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Manager to lead our production operations and ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. The position holder will oversee all aspects of the woodwork production facility, including planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in woodworking and factory operations, committed to driving productivity and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the production team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement;
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support the professional development of team members;
- Develop and implement detailed production plans and schedules in alignment with company goals, client requirements, and inventory levels;
- Monitor progress against targets, adjusting resources and processes as needed to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery;
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with design, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations;
- Oversee the implementation of quality control procedures to maintain high standards in woodwork finishing, assembly, and durability;
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies;
- Lead root cause analysis for production issues and develop corrective and preventive actions;
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs;
- Maintain optimal workflow layouts, ensuring effective use of space and materials;
- Manage inventory of raw materials, tools, and finished products; coordinate with procurement for timely restocking;
- Ensure proper maintenance of machinery and equipment; plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules;
- Address and resolve any workplace incidents or hazards promptly and effectively;
- Prepare regular production reports, including KPIs, cost analysis, downtime logs, and improvement plans, for senior management;
- Contribute to strategic planning and forecasting by providing insights into production capabilities and constraints;
Requirements
Academic qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, or a related field.
Additional qualifications and skills
- Strong knowledge of woodwork machinery, tools, and production techniques;
- Excellent leadership and team management skills;
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and production plans;
- Proficient in production planning software and Microsoft Office tools;
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and practices.
Years of experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or woodworking production environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role;
