Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial insights to inform key commercial decisions, including pricing strategies, contract negotiations, new product development, and market expansion;
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering data-driven insights and ensuring alignment between financial objectives and broader business goals;
- Lead the preparation of detailed financial reports that provide deep insights into business performance, including revenue, cost of sales, margins, and operating expenses;
- Provide clear and actionable financial analysis on key business initiatives, highlighting areas for improvement and identifying opportunities to maximize profitability;
- Drive the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews, ensuring accurate reporting of financial results and timely communication with senior leadership;
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate, realistic, and strategic financial plans aligned with business goals;
- Manage rolling forecasts, ensuring that financial projections are updated regularly based on actual performance and changing market conditions;
- Monitor and analyze operational costs, helping the business to manage cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities;
- Conduct margin analysis and identify pricing strategies to improve profitability, ensuring that all commercial activities contribute effectively to the bottom line;
- Provide detailed analysis on the profitability of individual products, customers, and regions, offering recommendations to optimize the sales mix and operational efficiency;
- Develop robust financial models to support business case evaluations, new investments, capital expenditure proposals, and other major decisions;
- Analyze the financial impact of commercial initiatives, such as product launches, marketing campaigns, and business acquisitions, ensuring that expected returns align with company objectives;
- Support financial assessments for new opportunities, including strategic partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures;
- Manage and optimize cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company maintains a healthy financial position;
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements in all commercial financial processes;
- Work with internal and external auditors to ensure the accuracy of financial reports and adherence to internal controls;
- Continuously assess and improve internal processes and controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure the integrity of financial data;
- Lead and mentor a small team of finance professionals, providing coaching, performance feedback, and opportunities for career development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team, ensuring that all members are aligned with business objectives.
Job Requirement
Qualification
- MA/BA in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or any Business Related Degree
- ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualifications are highly preferred
Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in a commercial organization industry, e.g., manufacturing, FMCG, retail sector is highly desirable.
Required skills
- Ability to carry out quantitative analysis and draw relevant conclusions;
- Demonstrated customer service skills and high-level communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and dispute resolution skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines;
- Ability to track records and develop strong relationships outside of the finance team;
