As a Senior Medical Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging results, and providing leadership to the radiology team. You will play a critical role in supervising and training junior staff, managing complex imaging procedures, and collaborating with radiologists and healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and others, ensuring high-quality images and accuracy.
- Review and analyze images for technical accuracy, collaborating with radiologists to ensure images meet diagnostic standards.
- Provide guidance and support to junior technologists, ensuring adherence to procedures, safety standards, and high-quality patient care.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures, adhering to radiation safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiology equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Work closely with radiologists, healthcare providers, and other team members to facilitate efficient imaging workflows and effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Handle emergency situations by providing urgent diagnostic imaging as required and ensure accurate imaging for trauma or critical care patients;
- Contribute to departmental process improvements and assist in implementing new techniques and technologies;
- Participate in professional development programs, attend relevant workshops and conferences, and encourage continuous learning among the radiology team.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of department processes and quality control measures;
- Stay updated on the latest advances in radiology technology, techniques, and industry standards.
Job Requirements
Educational Background
- BA/MSc degree in Medical Radiology Technology
Additional Requirements
- Proven experience in performing complex diagnostic imaging procedures;
- Prior experience in working with advanced imaging equipment;
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team;
- Expertise in radiation safety, quality control, and patient care protocols;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare teams.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 6+ years’ work experience in a well known medical facility
