Job Summary:

We are hiring for an experienced  Senior Microbiologist, who will play a key role in conducting advanced microbiological research and testing. The position holder will be responsible for overseeing microbiological studies, ensuring laboratory operations adhere to quality standards, and supervising junior staff. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of our services, as well as contribute to our ongoing research and development efforts. This role requires both technical expertise and strong leadership skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct microbiological testing on a variety of samples, ensuring results are accurate and timely;
  • Perform advanced microbiological assays, including microbial identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and sterility testing;
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results, providing clear recommendations and reports based on findings;
  • Design and implement experiments to improve testing methods or explore new areas of research;
  • Stay current on the latest developments and technologies in microbiology to ensure the team uses best practices;
  • Supervise and mentor junior microbiologists and laboratory technicians, providing technical guidance and support;
  • Ensure all microbiological tests and experiments are conducted according to established quality assurance protocols;
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance standards in the laboratory;
  • Prepare and review documentation, reports, and laboratory logs to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality control, research, and clinical departments, to support ongoing projects and initiatives;
  • Prepare and present clear, comprehensive reports on microbiological testing and research findings to management and stakeholders;
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory submissions and support audits when required.

Requirements

Academic qualification 

  • BA in Microbiology, Biochemistry or related fields

Additional qualifications 

  • In-depth knowledge of microbiological techniques, equipment, and methodologies;
  • Proficiency in microbiological laboratory equipment and data analysis software;
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex research and testing issues;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a highly regulated environment.

Years of experience: 

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a microbiologist in food manufacturing, cosmetics or pharmaceutical factory;
  • Strong background in quality control, laboratory management, and compliance with industry regulations is required.
