We are looking for an Area Sales Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting and driving sales performance within an assigned geographic area. This role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day sales operations, monitoring field execution, supporting sales representatives, and ensuring strong product availability and visibility across all outlets in the area. The Area Sales Coordinator will assist in planning and implementing sales strategies, collecting market intelligence, optimizing route-to-market operations, and strengthening relationships with distributors, retailers, and trade partners. This position requires strong organizational skills, regular field visits, and a proactive approach to managing sales operations efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Area Sales Manager in executing area-wide sales plans and strategies;
- Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly sales activities across assigned territories;
- Ensure sales representatives follow their schedules, routes, and sales priorities effectively;
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor product availability, pricing, merchandising, and stock rotation;
- Identify sales gaps and support the field team with corrective plans to close them;
- Track sales performance against targets for the area, including sell-in, sell-out, and distribution KPIs;
- Compile and review daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports;
- Analyze trends, highlight risks, and recommend timely solutions to management;
- Guide and assist sales representatives to improve outlet coverage, route efficiency, and sales execution;
- Provide coaching on selling techniques, customer handling, and market penetration strategies;
- Ensure reps maintain accurate records of store visits, orders, and customer issues;
- Maintain strong relationships with local distributors, wholesalers, and retailers;
- Support distributor operations by tracking stock levels, order replenishment, and delivery schedules;
- Resolve trade issues related to stock availability, pricing, or promotions;
- Coordinate area-specific trade marketing activation, promotions, and in-store campaigns;
- Ensure timely distribution of POSMs and marketing materials to outlets;
- Monitor the execution and effectiveness of promotional activities and share feedback for improvement.
- Gather and report market insights, including competitor activities, pricing changes, and new product introductions;
- Identify emerging opportunities and recommend area-specific strategies;
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on area performance, route compliance, product distribution, and trade issues;
- Maintain organized records of sales activities, outlet information, and field observations;
- Support the Area Sales Manager with data collection, planning documents, and operational updates.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing Management, Communications, or related fields.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently;
- Willingness to frequently travel within assigned areas;
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic reporting tools;
- Practical understanding of retail operations, route-to-market structures, and trade dynamics;
- Results-driven mindset with a passion for client success;
- Familiarity with sales automation tools.
Year of Experience: 4 - 5 years in sales coordination, field sales, merchandising, or FMCG operations.
