We are seeking a proactive, customer-focused, and highly driven Channel Sales Officer to support the growth of our sales operations across various distribution channels. The Channel Sales Officer will play a vital role in managing channel partners, expanding market reach, optimizing product availability, and delivering strong sales performance within assigned territories. The ideal candidate will have excellent relationship-building skills, a solid understanding of sales processes, and the ability to work closely with distributors, retailers, and internal sales teams. This role requires frequent field engagement, strong negotiation capabilities, and the strategic mindset needed to drive brand presence and revenue growth within the channel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners;
- Serve as the primary contact for channel partners, addressing inquiries, ensuring timely support, and facilitating smooth operations;
- Onboard new channel partners and ensure compliance with partnership agreements;
- Achieve assigned sales targets by implementing effective channel sales strategies;
- Regularly visit outlets to assess product availability, pricing, visibility, and trade performance;
- Identify sales opportunities and take immediate actions to close gaps and maximize sell-out;
- Identify new market opportunities, potential outlets, and emerging channel partners to increase market coverage;
- Recommend and support the introduction of new products, promotions, and merchandising initiatives;
- Ensure proper execution of trade marketing activities, including promotions, displays, and point-of-sale materials;
- Monitor brand visibility standards, report gaps, and collaborate with the trade marketing team for improvements;
- Coordinate in-store product campaigns and seasonal promotions with channel partners;
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts for assigned territories and channel partners;
- Collect and analyze sales data, market insights, and competitor activities to support decision-making;
- Submit timely weekly and monthly reports on channel performance, risks, and opportunities;
- Coordinate order placement, stock replenishment, and delivery follow-ups with distributors and internal logistics teams;
- Monitor stock levels across channels to avoid overstocking, stock-outs, or expired products;
- Ensure all channel activities comply with company policies, pricing guidelines, and trade agreements;
- Address and resolve issues related to partner performance, contractual obligations, and trade discrepancies.
Educational Qualifications
- BA degree in Marketing Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation, communication, and client management skills;
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and make informed decisions;
- Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territories;
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and reporting tools;
- Strong passion for sales, customer engagement, and market growth;
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines;
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; strong Excel skills preferred.
Year of Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in channel sales, trade sales, or FMCG distribution roles.
