Job Summary:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Factory HR & Administration Head to lead our HR and administrative functions at the factory level. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership in workforce management, compliance, employee relations, factory administration, and operational support services. This role is critical in ensuring the factory operates with a skilled, motivated, and legally compliant workforce, while also maintaining smooth administrative operations that support overall productivity and organizational growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of HR strategies aligned with factory operations and organizational goals;
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, retention, and exit processes;
  • Drive talent management initiatives, including succession planning and leadership development for factory staff;
  • Oversee employee relations, grievance handling, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees;
  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and company HR policies;
  • Coordinate and implement training and development programs tailored to factory workforce needs;
  • Oversee general administration functions such as facilities management, office supplies, fleet and transport services, security, and welfare programs;
  • Ensure efficient management of employee housing, canteen, health, and other factory support services;
  • Supervise the administration team to deliver high-quality support services that enable smooth factory operations;
  • Ensure proper record keeping and documentation of HR and administrative activities;
  • Lead HR and administrative audits, ensuring proper documentation and reporting to management and regulatory bodies;
  • Develop, review, and update HR and administration policies, procedures, and systems;
  • Prepare regular HR and administration reports for factory and senior management, providing insights for decision-making;
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives that build morale, motivation, and strong workplace culture;
  • Serve as a key link between management and employees, promoting transparent communication and collaboration;
  • Implement welfare and occupational health & safety programs to ensure employee well-being.

Requirements

Academic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA Preferred)

Additional qualification

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws, HR systems, and administrative practices;
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and people management skills;
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication abilities;
  • Proven ability to handle both strategic and operational HR & administration functions;
  • Proficiency in HR software, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

ExperienceMinimum 6 years of progressive experience in HR and Administration, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment, at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role overseeing both HR and administrative functions.
