We are looking for a competent candidate to fill the Head of Finance and Operations who oversees the integrated management of the company's financial and operational functions. This position will develop and implement financial strategies, oversee daily operations, manage risk, and drive efficiency and sustainable growth across the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic, proactive, and problem-solving leader with proven experience in senior finance and operations management roles.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall financial strategy, including long-term financial goals and business improvement initiatives;
- Lead the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes and develop accurate financial forecasts and cash flow projections;
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including the preparation of timely and detailed monthly and annual financial statements, management accounts, and reports for management, the board, and regulatory bodies;
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards;
- Implement robust internal controls and conduct risk management to safeguard company assets and ensure stability;
- Manage the company's liquidity, cash flow, and investments to maximize returns and ensure funds are allocated effectively for growth initiatives;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for financial audits, coordinating the preparation of all necessary documentation;
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring processes align with company goals and best practices;
- Evaluate current procedures and implement systems and process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability;
- Provide guidance on overall resource planning for projects and operations, ensuring efficient and timely use of resources;
- Oversee procurement and logistics functions, including vendor management, inventory tracking, and negotiation;
- Manage, mentor, and lead the finance and operations teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement;
- Partner with other business leaders to provide reliable and insightful decision support, ensuring alignment between financial management and business operations;
- Plan, develop, implement, and maintain appropriate operational standards, best practices, and procedures.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree/MBA preferred);
- A professional accounting qualification, like CPA, ACCA, is highly desirable.

- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting;

- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills;
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3+years in a senior management role.
