We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and experienced Inventory Control Manager to oversee and optimize the company’s inventory management processes. This role is critical to ensuring accurate tracking, efficient ordering, and proper storage of goods to meet business demands while minimizing costs and risks. The successful candidate will design and implement best-in-class inventory systems, monitor stock movements, analyze trends for forecasting, and drive continuous improvements in supply chain efficiency. As a senior member of the operations team, the Inventory Control Manager will collaborate closely with procurement, production, sales, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth and accurate supply chain operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve inventory management policies, procedures, and control systems;
- Ensure ERP and inventory management software are fully utilized for real-time stock visibility and reporting;Oversee daily stock tracking to prevent shortages, overstocking, or obsolete inventory;
- Lead regular cycle counts, physical stock audits, and system reconciliations to maintain accurate records;
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, implementing corrective and preventive measures;
- Analyze consumption patterns, production schedules, and market trends to forecast inventory requirements;
- Prepare detailed inventory performance reports, KPIs, and dashboards for management review;
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize stock turnover, reduce holding costs, and support business growth;
- Coordinate with production, sales, and logistics teams to match inventory with operational needs and customer demand;
- Partner with finance to support audits, reconcile stock valuations, and ensure compliance with accounting standards;
- Ensure adherence to company policies, health & safety regulations, and legal requirements;
- Develop cost-reduction strategies while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency;
- Lead, train, and mentor the inventory control team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement;
- Set performance goals for team members and provide coaching for professional growth;
- Manage relationships with suppliers and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries;
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain product standards throughout the inventory lifecycle;
- Lead projects to strengthen supply chain resilience, efficiency, and customer service levels.
Requirements
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Additional skills
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, ERP systems, and warehouse operations;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
- Proven leadership abilities with strong communication and team management skills;
- Ability to interpret inventory data, KPIs, and financial metrics to guide decisions;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory software.
Year of Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, supply chain, or related fields;
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing inventory or warehouse operations.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution industries is highly desirable.
