Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Procurement & Logistics Manager to lead the procurement and logistics department, drive efficient supply chain operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize costs while maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness. The Procurement & Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire procurement and logistics function, developing strategies for sourcing and distribution, and ensuring all activities align with best practices and full compliance with the law.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement and logistics strategies, including annual procurement plans, supplier development, and supply chain optimization;
  • Oversee the full procurement cycle, including planning, tendering, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and awarding, in strict compliance with relevant directives;
  • Lead supplier relationship management, performance reviews, and the maintenance of an approved vendor database;
  • Negotiate high-value contracts, framework agreements, and international purchases to secure optimal terms, quality, and value for money;
  • Manage end-to-end logistics operations, including importation, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution;
  • Ensure efficient inventory management, demand forecasting, and minimization of stock outs or overstock situations;
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management and departments on procurement policies, supply chain risks, market trends, and cost-reduction initiatives;
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the procurement and logistics team, including performance management and capacity building;
  • Ensure complete documentation, record-keeping, and auditing of all procurement and logistics transactions for compliance and reporting purposes;
  • Prepare and present monthly/quarterly/annual reports on procurement achievements, logistics performance, cost savings, supplier metrics, and supply chain KPIs;
  • Resolve complex vendor disputes, manage contract amendments, and mitigate risks in the supply chain;
  • Drive the development, revision, and implementation of procurement and logistics policies and procedures;
  • Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices in line with national guidelines;
  • Perform any other duties assigned by senior management.

Requirements

Educational Qualification: 

  • Bachelor's / Master’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, or related fields. 

Additional Skills

  • Extensive experience in strategic procurement, tender management, contract negotiation, and international supply chain operations;
  • Strong expertise in logistics management, including customs regulations, fleet operations, and warehouse management;
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, analytical, and decision-making skills;
  • Proficiency in procurement and ERP software, and data analysis tools;
  • High level of integrity, ethical judgment, and commitment to transparency;
  • Fluency in English and Amharic (both written and spoken), additional local languages are a plus;
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, manage multiple priorities, and lead teams effectively;
  • Superior negotiation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Years of experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
