Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and innovative Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to lead the integrated procurement and supply chain department, drive end-to-end supply chain excellence, ensure full regulatory compliance, and deliver significant cost efficiencies, quality improvements, and sustainability outcomes. The Procurement & Supply Chain Manager will oversee strategic sourcing, procurement processes, logistics, inventory management, and supplier development, fostering cross-functional collaboration and aligning operations with organizational objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement procurement and supply chain strategies, including long-term sourcing plans, demand forecasting, risk management, and sustainability initiatives;
  • Direct the complete procurement lifecycle for goods, services, and works, ensuring transparency and competitiveness;
  • Lead supplier strategy, including identification, qualification, performance management, contract negotiation, and development of strategic partnerships for optimal value and supply assurance;
  • Oversee comprehensive supply chain operations, encompassing importation, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, inventory optimization, and distribution networks;
  • Implement best practices in inventory control, reduce supply chain costs, enhance efficiency, and minimize risks such as disruptions or ethical concerns;
  • Advise executive management and departments on procurement regulations, supply chain trends, emerging risks, innovation opportunities, and strategic cost-saving measures;
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing procurement and supply chain team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and succession planning;
  • Ensure meticulous documentation, record-keeping, and audit readiness for all procurement and supply chain activities;
  • Prepare and deliver detailed monthly/quarterly/annual reports on key metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, inventory turnover, on-time delivery, and overall KPIs;
  • Resolve high-level supplier disputes, manage contract variations, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and process enhancements;
  • Champion the development, review, and enforcement of procurement and supply chain policies, procedures, and ethical standards;
  • Promote preferential sourcing for local suppliers, sustainable practices, and compliance with national priorities as outlined in relevant directives;
  • Perform any other duties assigned by senior management.

Requirements

Education Qualification: 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, or related fields. 

Additional Skills

  • Proven expertise in strategic procurement, international sourcing, contract management, supply chain optimization, and end-to-end operations;
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, data analytics tools, and MS Office suite;
  • Outstanding leadership, strategic vision, change management, and team-building capabilities;
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, forecasting, and risk assessment skills;
  • Uncompromising integrity, ethical standards, and dedication to transparency and accountability;
  • Fluency in English and Amharic (both written and spoken) & local languages are a plus;
  • Resilience in high-stakes, fast-paced environments with complex stakeholder management;
  • Strong communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Years of experience:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 3+ years in a senior managerial or leadership position.
