We are looking for an experienced, visionary, and performance-oriented Supply Chain Manager to lead the entire supply chain function, drive end-to-end operational excellence, ensure seamless integration of procurement, logistics, and inventory management, and achieve strategic cost efficiencies while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and sustainability. The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the planning, sourcing, production support (where applicable), distribution, and continuous improvement of the supply chain.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies, including demand forecasting, sourcing plans, inventory optimization, and distribution networks to support organizational goals;
- Oversee the integrated supply chain operations, from supplier selection and procurement through logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and delivery to end-users or customers;
- Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance evaluations, negotiate strategic contracts, and develop a robust vendor base for reliability and risk mitigation;
- Direct logistics and distribution activities, including importation, customs clearance, transportation, fleet management, and warehouse operations;
- Implement advanced inventory management systems, monitor stock levels, reduce waste, and ensure optimal turnover while minimizing stock outs and excess inventory;
- Provide high-level strategic guidance to senior management on supply chain risks, market trends, sustainability initiatives, and opportunities for innovation and cost reduction;
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team (procurement, logistics, and inventory staff), fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth;
- Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian customs procedures, import/export regulations, and other relevant laws, while maintaining accurate documentation and audit trails;
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual reports on supply chain performance, KPIs and trend analysis;
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, ethical issues, and environmental impacts;
- Drive the formulation, updating, and enforcement of supply chain policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols;
- Promote sustainable, ethical, and locally preferential sourcing practices in line with national guidelines and corporate objectives;
- Perform any other duties assigned by senior management.
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
Additional Skills
- Extensive expertise in end-to-end supply chain management, including strategic sourcing, contract management, logistics optimization, and international trade;
- Strong proficiency in supply chain software, ERP systems, and data visualization tools;
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and change management abilities;
- Superior negotiation, analytical, forecasting, and risk management skills;
- High standards of integrity, ethical decision-making, and commitment to transparency and accountability;
- Fluency in English and Amharic (both written and spoken); local languages are a plus;
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Years of experience:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics, with at least 4 years in a senior managerial or leadership role.
