We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supply Chain & Procurement Officer with a background in pharmaceutical supply management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient sourcing, procurement, and distribution of medicines and medical supplies in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. This role is crucial in maintaining uninterrupted product availability while optimizing cost, quality, and vendor performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to procure pharmaceutical products and medical supplies at competitive terms;
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure optimal stock availability and avoid overstock or stockouts;
- Review and manage purchase requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of quality-assured products;
- Track shipment schedules and work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers to ensure on-time and compliant deliveries;
- Ensure procurement activities comply with national drug regulatory requirements and Good Distribution Practices;
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including vendor contracts, delivery documentation, and product certificates;
- Support supplier audits, quality assurance checks, and performance evaluations;
- Collaborate with internal departments (sales, finance, regulatory affairs) to forecast demand and align procurement with business needs;
- Resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, quality concerns, or pricing discrepancies in a timely manner;
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies to improve cost efficiency and supplier performance;
- Prepare regular reports on procurement status, supply chain risks, and KPIs for management review.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Additional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical product types, regulations, and supply chain best practices;
- Familiarity with procurement tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo, Dynamics), and inventory management software;
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally;
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic work environment;
- Knowledge of import/export processes, cold chain requirements, and national drug regulatory policies is a plus;
