Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager to lead and optimize our warehouse and logistics operations within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end warehouse operations and distribution network, including inventory management, inbound and outbound logistics, transportation planning, warehouse safety, and staff supervision. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills to ensure efficient storage, distribution, and delivery of goods to meet customer expectations while controlling costs and maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily functioning of multiple warehouses, including inbound receiving, storage, stock rotation, picking, packing, and dispatch;
  • Design and implement efficient warehouse layouts, racking systems, and workflows to maximize space utilization and throughput;
  • Ensure proper handling of FMCG products, including cold chain management, expiry tracking, and shelf-life monitoring;
  • Develop and enforce robust inventory control systems to maintain accurate stock levels at all times;
  • Forecast stock requirements in collaboration with procurement and sales teams to ensure availability during peak seasons;
  • Monitor inventory carrying costs and implement strategies to reduce overstocking and stock-outs;
  • Plan and monitor fleet utilization, route optimization, and fuel consumption to minimize operational costs;
  • Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements with third party providers, transporters, and couriers;
  • Monitor real-time delivery tracking systems and resolve distribution bottlenecks swiftly;
  • Ensure all warehouse and transport operations comply with local laws, customs requirements, and FMCG product regulations;
  • Establish quality control checks during inbound/outbound processes to minimize customer complaints;
  • Build a performance-driven culture by setting clear KPIs and conducting periodic evaluations;
  • Manage warehouse and distribution budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational cost-saving objectives;
  • Foster collaboration between warehouse, procurement, production, and sales departments;
  • Work with senior management to align distribution strategies with overall business growth objectives;
  • Provide strategic insights on warehouse expansion, fleet investment, or outsourcing opportunities;
  • Represent the company in negotiations with suppliers, transporters, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

Academic qualification 

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field;

Additional qualifications 

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, warehouse management systems and ERP tools;
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale inventories and high-volume distribution;
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Familiarity with lean/Kaizen methodologies is an added advantage;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment.

Years of experience: 

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within FMCG.
